When Anthony Melas picked up the mantle of A!MS — formerly A.M. SNiPER — the Anglo-Cypriot producer/rhymer made it his mission to make his music hit the bull’s eye target. After treating fans to his seminal debut LP ‘Offshore’ last year, A!MS is back with the visuals to stand-out track, ‘iLIKE / Pull Up’.
The tracks boasts mellow chord progression, wind-swept synths and hypnotic drum patterns. Across ‘iLike / Pull Up’, the instrumentalist marries together the worlds of Afroswing and homegrown Cypriot flavour. ‘iLike’ sees A!MS tap frequent collaborators AV Allure and Akelle for the Major Music-produced heater. ‘iLike’ is kitted out with sun-sculpted crooning from both AV and Akelle as they transport the listener to a kaleidoscopic summery paradise.
For ‘Pull Up’, A!MS makes things an ensemble affair. Tapping AV Allure once again, the producer adds Yana Toma and Eleftheria Eleftheriou to the mix. With quality R&B-style vocal musings from Eleftheriou and a party-starting bassline throughout the hardest challenge is figuring out which track you prefer.
A!MS is no stranger to the worldwide music stage. So far, he’s collaborated with the likes of Afro B, Cool & Dre, The Game, and many, many more. He made his debut in the UK scene as a member of the mythical UK garage collective So Solid Crew, before launching his own solo career.
Last year, A!MS shared his album ‘Offshore’, and it’s been all systems go since then! Alongside the Notion-premiered single ‘Honour’ — featuring Projexx, Julian Marley and AV Allure — A!MS has also carved out a one-of-a-kind fanbase. With well over 22 million views on YouTube as of 2022, the London-via-Ayia Napa resident shows no sign of slowing down.
