MASTER PEACE DROPS HIGH-ENERGY SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR ‘SHAKEDOWN’

Revealing more aspects of his artistry with each release, Master Peace follows up his introspective cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way with the high-octane banger Shakedown

Fusing hip hop, trap and punk sensibilities with his signature indie sound, Shakedown is firmly glued together by a rumbling bassline which is set to ignite Master Peace’s ever-growing crowds. Not even passing the two-minute mark, this hurtling tune further propels the momentum Peace has built through his recent high-energy performances.

Master Peace shares, “after playing at festivals over the summer, my shows were brought to life with this song. It has that Punk energy in it and it’s all in the title – Shakedown. The live side of Master Peace is where I get to show my playful side and when I touch the stage it’s exactly that – a shakedown!”

The high-voltage music video made with his longstanding creative collaborator Sahra Zadat perfectly frames the energetic track, and sees Peace battle with his different personalities and emotions in an abandoned warehouse. Watch the video here.

July’s Public Display of Affection EP received a glowing response from fans and critics alike and proved that Master Peace can do both emotions and earworms, satisfying both the pop addict and the indie connoisseur in one single track. The EP was striking return with ‘Slow Song’ featuring rising London rapper Kasien and the standout anthem ‘Boyfriend’, which brims with loved-up angst and features London based singer-songwriter Mae Muller.

It’s his determination to carve himself a distinct niche within the indie-pop scene that has earned Master Peace kudos from a range of tastemakers including Annie Mac and Jack Saunders. The twenty-two-year-old emerged in 2018 with a sound more embedded in hip hop and rap, and which has since evolved over time to incorporate more indie-pop as heard in his 2019 single Night Time. 2020’s ‘Love Bites’ EP took that sonic shift a step further and established the foundations for his genre-defying sound today. Peace has been currently in the studio with Kele from Bloc Party, Bakar, Lancey Foux and Kaisen so more music is in the works….

His recent energetic performances have cemented him as a definite one-to-watch, having taken the BBC Introducing stage by storm at Reading and Leeds festivals, as well as thrilling the crowd at his Boardmasters set, which saw crowd surfers aplenty.
