Don’t let this cold weather fool you, El’Vee are still rolling out the riddims! Made up of twin sisters Lilian and Vivian, the UK-based and Nigerian-born newcomers have dropped their brand new vibrant single named, ‘Jealousy’.
Interlaced with a percussive and hip-moving production that’s reminiscent of Southwestern Nigeria courtesy of Sparkzy, El’Vee welcome the track with infectious melodies and a wheel-up worthy chorus. Navigating the hurdles, they have overcome throughout the course of their journey so far in the music industry ‘Jealousy’ is a tale of admiration. Speaking on the release the twins commented, “Jealousy is a blend of eclectic sounds, that reflects not just our culture and heritage but our artistic individuality”.
Often inspired by their authenticity and feminine drive, both Lilian and Vivian are best known for their ability to empower their listeners. Placing their drive and go-getter energy in their songs, they’ve formed a sound that intertwines elements of both Electronic music and Afrobeat’s; creating a wave that audiences in and out of Africa can enjoy and dance to.
Having previously appeared on two seasons of the UK’s well-known talent show X-Factor, they made quite the entrance back in 2013 when enlisting Don Jazzy on their debut single ‘Oga Pata Pata’. Since then, the twins have accumulated a growing fan base they like to refer to as the “El’Veellains” that are eagerly waiting for new music to drop. With their forthcoming EP on the way, ‘Jealousy’ is a taste of what’s yet to come!
