Hailing from the Coventry (West Midlands), is Kanda, an artist whose authentic sound goes against what we’re used to hearing in British Hip-Hop. Creating a wave of his own that adds a twist of Asian influence to the British sounds he has grown up alongside, the newcomer has returned with the release of his latest single, ‘He Will Reign’.
Produced by Blane Chalmers, ‘He Will Reign’ is a nod to the journey and progression that comes with life. Starting from the bottom and making your way to the top, Kanda references his love for boxing as a reflection of his own journey, fighting through the challenges and coming out on top. Boasting his rich tone and lyricism throughout, Kanda continues to prove why he’s a force to be reckoned with.
Paired alongside a set of cinematic visuals that feature former WBO European super-featherweight boxing Lyon Woodstock JR and upcoming hopeful Brandon Potter, we follow Kanda on set at multiple locations as preparation for the boxing match between the two titans unravels around him. Speaking on the release Kanda commented, “The song is dedicated to progression in life. The song depicts a journey from humble beginnings to a glorious ending. It is inspired by my own journey and my admiration for boxing.”
