Taka Hayashi and Vans

Japanese designer Taka Hayashi and Vans have teamed up once again to release the TH Style 138 LX Animal pack. The wildlife-inspired release serves up two bold colourways of zebra print/brown and cheetah print/blue, both of which will release on November 24 for $120 USD or £94 GBP at Sneakersntuff and select Vans retailers.

Born in Yokohama, Japan and moved to Santa Monica, California at the age of nine, Taka Hayashi is a self-taught illustrator, graphic designer and footwear designer. He is the creator of a highly coveted and collected signature line of Vans footwear. His designs have appeared on Stussy apparel, Pendleton blankets, Billykirk bags, Flip Skateboards and Burton Snowboards.

Following up on a military-inspired capsule, this wildlife-inspired release offers the Style 138 LX model (similar to the Vans Sk8-Hi) in two bold colourways. Both pairs feature an all-over animal print canvas upper, leather branding stripes and suede panels at the lace trim and heel counter.

His footwear and apparel collections at Vans continue to illustrate Taka’s creative ability and graphic design gift.
