Following the release of her spectacular debut EP “Don’t Blink” earlier this year, Rugby-born one-to-watch BLITHE (Blithe Saxon) adds to her growing list of pop anthemia today, with a moody, captivating new track: ‘Becoming You’.
‘Becoming You’ follows tracks ‘Bad’ and ‘Masochistic’. Her newest effort represents a bold step forward for Blithe, an honest and arresting union of irresistible melodies and raw emotion that reflects on a failed relationship. The track showcases the true growth of a woman who has chosen to look forward and find her true self in a better situation, rather than dwelling on her past.
Blithe says of the track: “Becoming You was written after I’d been played by someone I adored. When I fell in love with someone else and finally moved on, my ex wanted me back and it was like the roles had reversed. I stayed in the new relationship and a year after writing it, my girlfriend has directed the music video.”
The video for ‘Becoming You’ will drop next week and Blithe plays London’s The Wellington Club on Friday 22nd November.
Blithe knew she wanted to be a popstar from the age of five and by her early teens had already taught herself to play the guitar and piano, as well as dashing off to dance lessons and acting classes. She made the move to London at the age of just 16 to pursue her singing career.
Overloaded with personality, packed full of earworm melodies, and delivering the sort of heart-rending emotional punch that makes you clutch your chest with her music, Blithe has been firmly establishing herself as one to watch on the UK’s rising-pop scene in the twelve months since she released her very first track, “Mission”.
