For Etano, music is more than expression — it’s spiritual warfare, healing, and testimony. Through honesty, emotion, and raw storytelling, Etano uses his art to inspire people to confront their struggles while holding onto faith. In this interview, he speaks openly about growth, ambition, and why his purpose feels bigger than music itself.

What part of your life do you think people hear the most in your music?

I think people hear my transition and growth musically and as a man in general. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I’m not ashamed of who I am. My music acknowledges that I’m still learning while walking my path.

When people hear your name, what do you want them to associate you with?

Shock and strength. I’ve been compared to some greats, but I want people shocked by the uniqueness of my story and what God has written for me.

What environment shaped your sound the most?

My youth and my desire to express myself. I felt misunderstood growing up. I was ambitious, artistic, athletic, and had a quick temper because I refused to let people disrespect me or my friends. I felt like a unicorn in the zoo.

What does your story say about where you’re going?

My story says I’m going through Hell and gonna land in Heaven. I’m fighting my demons and telling people to do the same thing.

What would surprise people about your creative process?

When I’m on stage, that’s when I’m escaping. My performance is my worship, and my worship is my escape from reality.

Is your music about self-expression, proving something, or something bigger?

All of that. Self-expression, faith, dreaming, and building.

What’s one lesson life taught you early?

Say what you mean and mean what you say. Know your struggles aren’t unique, so speak on them honestly.

How do you balance relatability and truth?

Anything that comes from your heart will have a unique sound. I just speak from the heart strongly enough so it reaches who it’s meant for.

What motivates you most right now?

My calling. I believe Yahweh called me to help bring people back to Him, and that responsibility keeps me going.

What do you hope people feel after hearing your music?

Fire. I want people to feel invincible in Jesus’ name. I want them to feel strong when they’re weak.

Etano’s music carries the energy of someone fighting for purpose in real time. Blending faith, vulnerability, and passion, he’s creating records that challenge listeners to grow spiritually and emotionally while never giving up on themselves.
