What part of your life do you think people hear the most in your music, even if you never directly say it?
I believe people hear the seriousness in what I’m saying. They hear the resilience, hunger, passion, and the fight the Lord put in me.
When people hear your name for the first time, what do you want them to immediately associate you with besides music?
I want people to associate my name with someone who is truly on fire for Jesus — a true man of God.
What environment or experience shaped your sound the most?
All of the above honestly. My life experiences, personality, influences, and struggles all shape my sound. There’s a difference between the sound and the message.
A lot of artists rap about where they’re from. What does your story say about where you’re going?
My story says I’m a citizen of Heaven. My testimony is about the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing awareness that salvation comes through repentance and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.
What’s something about your creative process that would surprise people?
People might be surprised to know I have a ghostwriter — the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit. When I write, I lean on Him to help deliver the message through the music.
Do you feel like your music is more about self-expression or building something bigger?
My music is first and foremost about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s about uplifting people, perseverance, truth, and awareness. I’m just trying to be obedient to God’s will.
What’s one lesson life taught you early that still shows up in almost everything you create?
Never give up and always walk by faith, not by sight. Trials and tribulations will come, but we already have victory in Christ.
How do you balance relatability while still telling your personal truth?
Everybody has a story. The more life you live, the more you realize people share similar struggles. I believe artists should tell their stories because overcoming something can help others overcome too.
What motivates you the most right now?
Knowing that I’m on assignment from God. I had stepped away from music before, but the Holy Spirit inspired me to return — this time to glorify Jesus and create music believers can worship to.
When somebody finishes listening to your music, what feeling do you hope stays with them?
I pray seeds are planted in their hearts and that the anointing breaks the yoke of bondage through the music.
