Big Fit carries the South with him everywhere he goes. Whether over East Coast production, soulful funk, or hard-hitting hip-hop records, his sound is rooted in experience, energy, and unapologetic authenticity. From church choirs and HBCU life to barbershops and trap spots, Big Fit’s story is layered with real-life perspective — and it shows in every record he touches.
What part of your life do people hear most in your music?
My southern roots. No matter what type of beat I’m on, you’re gonna hear that South Carolina dirt road in my delivery.
What do you want people to associate with your name besides music?
Good vibes. Like that cookout everybody knows is about to be a good time.
What shaped your sound the most?
Living different lives and experiencing different environments. Church choirs, gospel quartets, R&B, hip-hop, being an Army brat, attending an HBCU, cutting hair, coaching basketball — I’ve lived a lot of life.
What does your story say about where you’re going?
That I’m helping create a new lane for Southern rappers. A lane where artists can express themselves however they want without worrying about expectations.
What would surprise people about your creative process?
I get completely pulled into the moment. A beat, a smell, a memory, or even a feeling can trigger creativity instantly. I don’t force it — the spirit moves me.
Do you feel your music is more about expression, healing, or building something bigger?
All of it. My music is therapeutic. I compare it to a medicine cabinet — sometimes I’m helping others, sometimes I’m helping myself.
What lesson life taught you early still shows up in your music?
Capture the moment while it’s there. Write the idea down immediately because that exact spark may never come back again.
How do you balance relatable music with personal truth?
I just live in the moment honestly. If what I’m saying is real, somebody’s going to feel it too.
What motivates you the most right now?
All of it works together — the love of music, visions of success, and changing my situation for future generations.
What do you hope listeners think after hearing your music?
That I’m versatile, authentic, and can really rap. I want people to feel like they learned something while still having a good time.
Big Fit represents more than just music — he represents experience, culture, and authenticity. With versatility, wisdom, and unmistakable Southern energy, he continues building records that feel lived-in, relatable, and impossible to box into one style.
